Old dog...New tricks etc...

What does one do on a quiet, cold and windy day when trying to take ones mind off a tummy ache (which has lasted for 10 hours and shows no sign of abating)?
Learn a new computer program of course! I totally amazed myself today by learning to use Inkscape (a vector drawing program) you can download for free here. I followed the tutorials (which were super easy!) and without a background in graphic art or computer wizardry, look what I created!
Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

Several topics for discussion today

1. My Poppet Sale is now on - still lots of bargains to be had ( I went a bit crazy with my red marker) Includes $10 off Gumboots, a heap of stuff under $25 and more...

2. I am requiring a standard size 4 model to try on a sample garment from the new My Poppet clothing range ( more about that soon...) So if any local mums have a size 4 girl or boy (willing to try a dress on) could you pop in this week, your efforts will not go un-rewarded.

3. My favorite Sydney based artist is soon to be a Melbourne based artist. Yay! So now Tamara will be able to sign her prints that are for sale in the store. And for all of you Sydneysiders you can go and see her current exhibition in Global Gallery, Paddington. Some images and Bio here.
4. Many of you may know that this Sunday past was the last market day for Cinti does Vintage. Our markets have been a fabulous experience for the past 3 years, and even though cold wet mornings have taken their toll, the lovely friends I've made during the past few years have been worth every moment. Cinti does Vintage products will still be available through My Poppet and other retail stockists and I'll try to pop them on Poppet in the Post a bit more often now for those of you having market withdrawal symptoms.
That's all for today, Thank you.

Wooden toys and other favorite things...

I have always loved the simplicity of this stacking toy, little ones are always attracted to it. The base convex so it wobbles around nicely without toppling over. Today it is sharing shelf with my most favorite quilt ever (for this week anyway). The colours complement each other perfectly.
And because I am obsessed with fabric, and I know some of you out there share my ailment,
I thought I'd share a few of my favorite squares from the quilt.

PS. I've just updated Poppet in the Post with some handstitched love

SALE TIME!

I am feeling a little depressed after just missing out on what I thought was going to be my new home...I had already planned where all the furniture was going to go, lovely house swapping holidays and dinner parties. But alas, it wasn't to be and now every time I drive past the lovely building I'll be thinking of what could have been...
So to cheer myself up I've decided to have a ONE WEEK Pre-STOCKTAKE SALE
It starts at 10am on Tuesday 24th of June (this Tuesday coming) and will finish on Saturday - after which I will start counting (any volunteers?)
Prices will be reduced by 20-40% on selected winter and last summer's ranges. Come in early to pick up a bargain. Styles and sizes left are fairly random but will include, coats, boys pants, winter and summer frocks, swimwear, gumboots, beanies and Chookleaf shoes.

Window dressing...

I have changed my window twice this week already!
From this... a fabulously warm range of velour hoodies and pants - made in Melbourne by Paul & Paula. Now on Poppet in the Post
to this... A wonderfully bright one of a kind handmade cot quilt. And before you ask, No, I didn't make it. I couldn't match up all of the corners so perfectly or have time to hand stitch all the binding. POA

A Beary special day...

Jhoanna stopped by yesterday with a very special delivery of Peg bears for me to sell in the shop. I was so excited to see them, they are made from vintage fabrics and have warm fluffy tummy and ears - well suited to tickling I believe.
They have settled right in and have pride of place in here at the moment.
