Kids Craft: Shoe Box Doll House

Emma has been fascinated with all things tiny of late, so I thought it was time that all her little toys had somewhere to live. A shoe box is the ideal size for a doll house, and more importantly, it's a great way to reuse items that would normally be discarded.
Her favourite crafting activities are pasting and stickers, so I tailored this project to suit. It's the most crafting fun we've had together in a long time.
I remember making a similar shoe box house for my sister's Muppet Babies figurines (remember those?).

Free Printable: Kewpie Poster

I have really been enjoying flexing my creative photoshop muscles of late. Attending a class several months ago really gave me a solid grounding to start from, and I feel like my skills are improving everyday. I have a huge collection of images accumulated from the thousands of photos I shoot of products and tutorials, and with my newly acquired skills, I love that I can create digital collages and recycle them into new artworks. I even digitally collaged the image above!

Earlier this week I put a call out on the facebook page asking if you guys would like me to create a poster or some book labels. The poster votes won, so here you are. I know you all like Kewpies.
Download link after the break...

Getting to Know You: Jessica of SewSet

Today I've interviewed Jessica from Me Sew Crazy, an amazing lady who had a big idea and really made it happen. Jessica has created SewSet, an ever growing on-line sewing directory, aimed at bringing all of the fabulous sewing tutorials and patterns that are spread out over the web onto one site.
As an 'ideas woman' myself, I know how difficult and frustrating it can be to constantly have brainwaves, but never be able to find the time and energy to make them a reality, so I really admire Jessica for getting this project off the ground, and oh so elegantly!

Hooray for E-books - The Craft of Markets

I'm so excited to finally share with you a project that I've been working on with Jodie from The Haby Goddess for what seems forever. It's finally done and I'm so pleased at how awesome it's turned out.

Our first foray into E-book publishing...The Craft of Markets. Aimed at those of you starting out or even just considering running a market stall.
Jodie and I met as craft market neighbors, so we thought combing our experience and distilling our hard earned knowledge into this handy resource would be a great idea.

So much of the advice and references contained, we learned the hard way, and if I'd had access to information like this all those years ago it could have really helped me a lot.

The e-book contains honest, practical advice written by Jodie and I from an Australian perspective, answering some important questions every prospective market stall holder needs to ask themselves before they take the plunge into the craft market world. International readers will also find the advice very useful.
Having over 10 years of market experience, and many more in both bricks & mortar and online retail between us, we share all the tips and tricks to having a successful and profitable market stall with a minimum amount of stress and a maximum amount of fun!

The e-book is written in an easy to read format (and attractively designed by me!) and covers many topics such as Picking the right market for you, Market applications, Products, Pricing, Merchandising, Logistics, Selling tips, contains a handy printable Essentials checklist and a Resources guide with links to packaging and display item stockists and more. Some extra handy hints from market organisers are also included.
Comes in a PDF format that you can load on your iPad or mobile device, read on your computer or even print out.

How To: Needle Felted Fruit - Kiwi

Emma loves playing with pretend food, so I thought I would add some felted fruit to her collection. She loved when I surprise her with little gifts, what kids doesn't? Although I'm sure she'd prefer a My Little Pony if she knew they existed. Today I'll show you how I made this kiwi fruit, and also how to use carding brushes to blend roving colours.
