Window love...

Always fun changing the window. I really love it this week, lots of bright colours stopping passers by in their tracks. How cute is this cow cushion by Balala? Made from a vintage tea towel, matches nicely with my vintage fabric quilt.

New Chalk n Cheese Cashmere/wool coats are gorgeous as well. They're lined with yummy colourful printed fabric just for a bit of fun!

Keeping busy...

It feels a bit weird seeing a photo of me up on the blog, I may take it off, haven't decided yet.
Anyway, I've been keeping very busy at the moment, I just can't seem to sit and do nothing. Maybe I'm procrastinating because i can't bear the thought of having to pack up the whole contents of my home and move.
I recently made these cute necklaces out of vintage fabric. I think they really look good layered over these little dresses, especially this navy number. Whack on a red pair of tights and hit the town!!!

Retro Picture cubes are back by popular demand, I'll list them online shortly.

Stand to attention...

I love this Soldier Skittles set that arrived in store yesterday, reminds me of my 1st trip to London when I was 22. Every moment was spent taking those touristy photos, changing of the Guard, Big Ben, Tower of London etc...you get the idea. Gosh seems like such a long time ago now, when digital pics didn't exist so you had to make every picture count. Wow didn't I look young and thin back then...

Coincidental this weekend I randomly made a pair of baby booties in the same genre. Aren't they so adorable, I've put them on Poppet in the Post.
And finally I had to take a pic of this dress I made as a special order for a customer in NSW. I think it's really one of my most favorite dresses that I've made to date, she wanted it to match with the Dick & Dora brooch pictured (her little girl's name begins with A) and gave me free reign with the design and fabric choice, I Hope she likes it as much as I do.

New range - Knuffle Kid

Super excited when a new Melbourne made range of clothing arrived yesterday. Knuffle Kids, handmade by Melbourne mum Emma, for girls that don't do frills.

Sizes range from 0-3 and will shortly be on Poppet in the Post (my camera ran out of juice today).
Must apologise for my rant the other day, I obviously needed to vent! Most things under control now except for crazy neighbour (but that's a different story!)

33 weeks...

Sorry, not much blogging of late, it seems to be a cruel joke that just as i have a million things to do, my body is making tasks more awkward and slow...

My Life at the moment consists mainly of (and in no particular order)- Painters, cracks and structural engineers, peeing every 5 minutes, not sleeping, weddings and christenings, trying to remember to eat and feeling guilty of starving the baby because i forget, doctors and doula appointments, finding clothes to fit me, smiling graciously when people tell me how excited i must be feeling (more like a mixture of anxiety and panic at this stage!), trying to make sure the shop is still running smoothly and bills are getting paid, stressing about moving house, panicking that nothing is ready for the baby, leasing agents and crazy neighbours...all whilst every one is telling me to slow down and get some rest!! People, the new (very grotty house) isn't going to clean itself!

And (apart from the above rant) I am a picture of relative calm. But how? You ask...I sew. Pants and dresses, tops and booties, mainly for the shop, some things for the baby, sort of the only thing I feel i have control of at the moment.
Have quite ambitiously started single handedly producing the My Poppet summer 09/10 collection. Gee, I am loosing it! You'll get a sneak peek as thing progress, hopefully I'll get more than a handful or garments together.

In the mean time here is the new shop window...
