Only one more day of work before my holidays start, Yay! I'm hoping to get some crafting done on my break, i have sooo many unfinished projects, and lots i want to get started on as well... I think I'm being a little bit optimistic as I'll be moving house soon and probably need to start packing stuff up and de-cluttering, instead of making more stuff and more mess!

I did manage to finish a last minute customer request yesterday morning , quite pleased with how it turned out, I hope Mae likes it.

I've been waiting for the right project to come along for this fabric, it's a little too heavy for clothing but just right for a book bag.

It's a girl...

Mr Cinti put on a brave face, but i could tell he was a tad disappointed, oh well, he'll get over it.

Oh! just think of all the pretty dresses I'm going to make with my lovely vintage florals...

Santa Silliness...

Just a bit of Christmas silliness here, have fun making your own.

Exciting day tomorrow - 20 week scan, will post results for those of you interested.

Will it be a girl or a boy?

Mr Cinti is betting on a boy, I really don't know and don't mind either way. Leave a comment with your guess, no prizes, just the satisfaction that you got it right.

xx Cinti + 1

Miffy Love!

I really loved Miffy as a girl and apparently so did most of my customers today, oohs and ahhs as they snatched stock out of my hands as i was unpacking the boxes of Miffy goodies.
So I have some classic hardcover books and lovely melamine feeding sets for children and babies.
Books are online now. Haven't had time to photograph the plates and cups, you'll have to come into the shop for those.

Top 20!

Was thrilled to see My Poppet in the Sunday Age M magazine this weekend listed as one of Melbourne's Top 20 gift shops. Honoured to be alongside some of my favorite shops including Douglas and Hope, Cottage Industry and Hudson. Hopefully some more of you lovely people out there will come along to visit the store, I'm sure you won't be disappointed...By the way, I've had a couple of people ring saying that their credit cards won't work on Paypal checkout on Poppet in the Post. If that happens, please give me a ring and i can process your card over the phone to get your goods out to you the same day. I wouldn't want you to miss out on the goodies I've got in store.

Have also listed an under $10 and under $20 category which makes shopping for stocking fillers a breeze.

Do you sell books?

I often get asked if i sell books, and until recently the answer was no. But now, the answer is YES! And not just any old story book, fantastic, beautifully illustrated, fun and whimsical story books. All by Australian authors and illustrators. Books that you will love to read, just as much as your kids...this one is my favourite.

The story is lovely, about a boy named Benjamin who travels to the Land of Nod in a wooden boat when he falls asleep, only to find that scary 'bugaboo' monsters have stolen the golden bird from the Land of Nod's light house that guides 'sleeping souls through the storms of nightmares to dreams of gold'. Benjamin must face his fears and bravely rescue the bird so all little children can dream without fear.

If the story isn't magical enough, the artwork is just mind blowing, you can even follow Benjamin's journey on a map inside the covers.

A must read, over and over again. Now on Poppet in the Post along with 3 other great books for young children.

Folk themed christmas...

I was scrounging around for some breakfast in my pantry yesterday morning and stumbled across these pretty paper doilies. They sort of look a bit snowy and folksy and festive, perfect for a christmasy window treatment. I don't really like to go too OTT at Christmas time with decorations, partly because it's just not my thing and partly because most of the community in the area is Jewish and no shops around me really put up decorations.
I quite liked how the big window look so I decorated the door as well.

Post office bound...

I'm really getting to know the staff at my local post office really well. I visit them every day, not always with this many parcels though! They deserve a special treat for Christmas, I might bake them some biscuits if i get the chance.
This luggage trolley has been a great investment, no more lugging around heavy boxes to the car or parcels to and from the post office. Got to look after myself now that there's a baby on board!
