Cupcake tummy ache!

Thanks for the great support on the biggest morning tea, we managed to raise over $350 in generous donations, both online and on the day. I am very pleased to have well exceeded the $100 goal I had in mind. Now I have a cupcake tummy ache - can't let the leftovers go to waste!
The postie arrived today with a package from Dick & Dora which included a couple of these lovely 'go to town' bags, great for carrying library books, dancing shoes, pyjamas and other daily essentials for the girl about town! They are for sale at the shop if you feel the need to purchase one.
And lucky me, look what else the parcel contained... ....it totally matched my outfit today, what are the chances?

(spell check isn't working again! please forgive mis-spellings, the sugar rush is messing with my brain)

Knitted love...

A few new additions to the My Poppet family have arrived today, knitted with love by a very talented local lady who seems to work magic with her knitting needles!
The elephant is my favorite, he is really big and cuddly...And this very sensible teddy has remembered to rug up against the chilly autumn winds...Issue 3 of LMNOP magazine is now available to download here

And don't forget that tomorrow I am hosting the My Poppet- Biggest morning tea at the store.
Lots of yummy goodies including some donated by 2g Foods - cake makers extraordinaire! Thanks to every one that has already donated, tomorrow should be a lot of fun!

Cheeky Monkey!

A couple of cheeky little monkeys swung into the shop today, they've been keeping me entertained with their monkeying around. Thanks Monique for bringing them in, I'm sure I'll find a good home for them soon...

Introducing Cherry Stew...

...a new delicious sounding and looking label by Melbourne gal Madeline Somers. I was so excited to see Madeline's beautiful work, with lovely hand stitching, beautiful colours and vintage inspired floral fabrics. The dresses are fully lined with lovely unexpected fabric combinations that make them almost reversible (although not intentionally designed that way).

Madeline tells me the design inspiration for this collection is mainly from old fashioned fairy tale stories and illustrations. Sizes start at 00 and upto 5. Some lovely pictures to get you salivating...

My Poppet - Biggest Morning tea

I will be hosting a Morning Tea to raise funds for The Cancer Council. Read how every cup counts to raise funds for cancer research, education programs and support services.
My aim is to raise at least $100 and thanks to a very generous online donation we are 20% there. Hopefully we can exceed that goal.
Please Join me on Wednesday 28th of May at My Poppet between 10.30-12.30
I will have tea and cupcakes and some other goodies to nibble on.
All I ask for is a minimum gold coin donation, and if you would like to bring along some homemade goodies to donate to the event, you are most welcome.
My event is about a week after the official event- I wanted to give you all plenty of notice. Please RSVP if you can make it so I can cater for all of you.
Bring a friend and let's have a lovely morning.
If you can't make it please consider making an online donation to the event.

Missing in action...

This week has totally passed me by without me realising...I seem to be running on autopilot at the moment- if I seem a bit dazed it's because no one is behind the wheel flying this thing!
TGIF is all I can say.
I even missed my 100th post, boo hoo! Now I'll have to wait for another significant blogging milestone to celebrate (maybe the shops 1st birthday - we'll need bubbly for that one!)
Silly me decided to re-merchandise the store on wednesday afternoon, 2 days later I've finally finished! Remind me not to do that again. I'm tend to have to make a big mess in order to 'organise', and am often too distracted to get to the organising bit! A lot of exclamation marks today? sigh!
I have acquired these cute little Vintage chairs, they probably need a paint job but I don't want to lose the gorgeous little animal transfers on the seat, what do you think? To paint or not to paint? (chairs have sold - thanks)
Read about the knitters behind these cute little guys here

And a sneak peek of the new Mon*star shipment...

Why my heart skipped a beat...

2 posts in one day, because I just remembered that I promised to share the contents of this parcel with you, curious? My heart skipped a beat when I saw it's beautiful contents. Made in Australia with magnificent attention to detail by a mother daughter team, I really think these pieces won't last long.
I can't choose a favorite, they are all so lovely...
Little red dress sizes 0-4 $69.95
Black & White Knickerbockers sizes 2-5 $59.95
Coolest shirt ever (for boys or girls) sizes 2-5 $49.95
Classic striped shirt sizes 1-5 $49.95
...and there's more where that came from, stay tuned.

Why I was late to work today...

Yes, a dreaded flat tyre, which I was totally clueless to until a cabbie sitting in traffic pointed it out. Thank you cabbie.
Luckily the sun gods blessed me with a lovely Melbourne morning to enjoy whilst patiently waiting for help to arrive.
With only Raspberry tartlets and a hot cup of tea to sustain me, I just managed to survive until my knight in shinning armour (in a yellow van) arrived.
God bless you RACV man with your lighting speed air compressor tyre change thingy. I was more than happy to share my tartlets with you...

To Keep you warm...

I made this scarf to keep you warm, it took a long time, but i think it was worth it.

I need a lie down, cold weather makes me sleepy. If you find me curled up in the shop taking a little nap, just leave you money on the counter and try not to make too much noise, I get pretty grumpy if I'm awakened suddenly.

A lovely brown paper package tied up with string arrived today. Just like in the 'Sound of music' I'll share it's contents with you tomorrow...
