Sponsor Profile & Giveaway - Fawn & Fox

Emma has a pair of Gumboots that she is totally in love with. They are red and easy to put on all by herself, and on rainy days, she wears them out into the front courtyard where she splashes about in our one small puddle. When she opened the box of Bergstein Gumboots from Fawn & Fox, her eyes lit up, and for days she insisted on wearing them to bed (of course I didn't let her). I'm sure when she grows up she will remember her beautiful red boots. They are pretty special...
After encountering these classic Dutch boots in Europe, Sally from Fawn & Fox loved them so much that she became the exclusive Australian distributor for them. Now Fawn & Fox has expanded to include a homewares range from San Fransisco and a beautiful children's' knitwear range from Denmark.

I must say that Sally has immaculate taste and an eye for quality, everything stocked by Fawn & Fox has such a timeless feel.

I recently popped in to visit Sally at one of her market events so I could have a look and feel of the newly launched knitwear ranges. Wow, I can't begin to describe how soft the yarn is. Both the Mormor and Esensia labels are made from Alpaca or alpaca blends and really feel like silk, warm and light at the same time. I fell in love with the beautiful ribbed Mormor leggings which are actually knit by grandmothers in Denmark (Mormor means grandmother in Danish). I imagine these pieces will not only be passed onto siblings, but onto the next generation as well. (Just make sure the hubby doesn't throw them in the dryer!)

Now for the super exciting bit. Sally has been so generous and offered me this gorgeous Esencia Ribbed Jumper to Giveaway to one lucky reader. (pictured below available in sz 1-6)This prize is valued at $140 and is really stunning.

All you have to do to be in the running is pop over to the Fawn & Fox website and then leave a comment here telling me what you like the best from their shop, as well as a few words about what reminds you of a happy time in your childhood. It can be as simple as a pair of red gumboots.

Just one entry per person please, we want every one to have an equal chance. Sally and I will pick our favorite answer from all the comments.

Thank you Fawn & Fox for being such a great sponsor, as a way to say thanks, be sure to tell your friends about this great Melbourne based company, and pop over and like their facebook page too.

The fine print: competition closes Tuesday 2nd August 7pm EST. Winner will be chosen by a judging panel (Sally and I - not randomly) and announced on the blog on August 3rd. Winner will also be notified via email so please make sure you have e-mail enabled on your comments or leave an e-mail address in your comment (entries with no e-mail contact will be void). Giveaway is open to Australian residents only. Even though we'd love you to become a 'Liker' of our facebook page, entry is NOT conditional on becoming a 'liker' of the My Poppet or Fawn & Fox Facebook business pages. This giveaway is not affiliated with facebook in any way.

Oh my, I love that esencia string hat, I wish it came in my size!!
Nothing screams childhood for me more than a tomy owl clock - it had an analogue face with hands that you could move around and when the owl opened his eyes, it showed the time in digital format - I passed many an hour playing with that owl - and needless to say, I am excellent at time telling!

I love the Mormor leggings. My family is Danish and my favourite childhood memories are dancing around the Christmas tree singing carols and getting in trouble for blowing out the candles.

Oh the Mor Mor grey cardigan with twist is divine!

Whenever I hear that song that Johnny Young used to sing at the end of Young Talent Time (close your eyes and I'll kiss you....) I'm transported back to Saturday nights with us all round the tele with our toasted cheese sandwiches or soup!

oh my goodness- i LOVE the yellow gummies. So much so that i'd like them in my size... not that i don't spend every waking moment thinking about my kids ;)

Most of my childhood memories are centred around the ocean, the feeling of sunburnt skin and sand at the bottom of my bed. The sound of the ocean lapping the shore still lulls me to sleep now- almost 30 years later.

I love the beret!! It reminds me of the time that my fashion forward younger sister said one day as we were going to school, "I need a beret. They are all the rage. Mom, can I have a beret?" She says as she pronounces the "t" in the word. We still say it that way in our family.

My favourite are the knitted leggings, they are soooo cute!!
I live away from home now, I was brought up in France, and my favourite childhood memories are from there. Living in the country, feeding the chicken and collecting eggs. We even used to walk out chicken on a lead!! My very favourite thing was swapping school bags with my good friend Claudine so my Mum would drive me over to hers and swap. Invariably, Mum would stay and have coffee with Claudine's Mum and we would get extra playtime :-)
I love being a Mum now and watching my 2 children create their own childhood memories. I am truly blessed.

I really love the Bergstein Gumboots in red - so gorgeous!
"These gumboots remind me of when I was young,
we would go trampling through the bush having lots of fun.
Building cubbies in trees and digging great big holes,
getting really muddy and ruining our clothes!"

Oh the wee elephant hat – what a cuddly sight to see, with a little face peeping out of it!

The feeling of never wanting to go to sleep, of the sun never rising too early; of riding an old bike up and down the driveway, little brother hanging on behind; preparing feasts from the garden for teddies and dollies; racing, shouting, feet never touching the ground – rising to do it all again.

As a Mum now I witness this beautiful unbounded energy in my own kids, wow, and phew!

Those red Bergstein boots are fantastic.

Our little ones have missed out splashing in puddles,
like we used to do as children, due to the lack of rain over the years, so now the drought has broken, it is time for them to celebrate in those boots splashing and floating leaves down gutters......

This post reminded me of a pink and white hand knitted jumper which I wore to school in Grade Four day after day, my mum eventually had to hide it from me, it was getting a little embarrassing really. I must ask her where it came from, and where it went!

The Esencia and Mormor jumpers are heavenly!

My favourite childhood memory is of making mud pies out in the garden and entering the house covered in mud ( i must have been around 3 or 4 years old). Instead of scolding me my mum and dad would break into song and we'd dance around the kitchen. These are very funny and fond memories i cherish to this day.
